Special-Lite, Inc. pioneered the application of FRP on doors, and we produce more than anyone. Our unique design and advanced engineering gives our FRP doors great strength for tremendous abuse tolerance, without unnecessary weight.
Reduced weight makes our doors ADA-compliant as well as easier on hardware, framing, and wall anchors. But less weight doesn't mean they're light duty doors. Special-Lite® SL-17 and SL-175 Pebblegrain FRP Flush Doors are the toughest heavy-duty doors you can choose.
Features and Benefits
-
FRP face sheets are .120" (3mm) thick for great impact strength.
-
Exclusive SpecLite3® face sheet is resistant to dents, scratches, scuffs, paint, ink and fading.
-
Stiles and rails are manufactured from extruded 6063-T5 aluminum alloy, sized and configured for maximum strength without unnecessary, non-functional bulk.
-
Stiles and rails are joined with mitered corners and angle blocks secured by 3/8" (9.5mm) diameter full-width galvanized steel tie rods to provide flexibility.
-
Face sheets are secured on all four sides by full-length integral reglets on the edges of the stiles and rails, eliminating troublesome screw-applied capping.
-
Poured-in-place urethane core with a minimum five pounds per cubic foot density ensures impact resistance, flexural strength, and thermal insulation. In addition, it won't absorb or be damaged by water.
